Coast Guard District 11, Northern Region includes the northern portion of California and the entire states of Nevada and Utah.

The offices of its Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX) are located on Coast Guard Island in Alameda, California.

"The Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX) is charged with the active promotion and administration of Auxiliary affairs in the district and for compliance with instructions and directives governing the Auxiliary organization.  As the District Commander's representative in all matters pertaining to the Auxiliary, the director keeps the District Commander advised of all circumstances and developments of interest as they pertain to the program."

We will be brilliant in the basics: Training, certifying, and supporting Auxiliary members so that they may achieve excellence in Recreational Boating Safety, Coast Guard and State Support, and Member Services.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to facilitate the needs of all our customers by fostering a spirit of cooperation and developing partnerships.  We recognize the desire of the Auxiliary and search for new prospects that will motivate the Auxiliary membership to attain their potential.  We train and certify the Auxiliary in areas that support our customers.  We facilitate acceptance of the Auxiliary as a valued and respected component of Team Coast Guard.
